The Independent Evaluation Group's 2008 study of the World Bank addressed its public sector reform at many levels. A highlight was improvements to the organization's anti-corruption and transparency strategies in lending programs and simplification of lending programs through e-commerce. The World Bank also did well in understanding that reform takes time and therefore went with an incremental approach, allowing it to tailor its assistance to each country's abilities and capacities, vs. asking or forcing countries they were working with to meet their organization's pace
