The Institute of International Education (IIE) collects data each year about international students who attend college or university in the United States. In their 2018 Open Doors report, the IIE reported that 33.2% of international students came to the United States from China, 17.9% came from India, 5.0% came from South Korea, 4.1% came from Saudi Arabia, 2.4% came from Canada, and 1.4% came from Mexico.
