The interesting thing with carry trade is that it does carry a lot of risk and is usually done by people that have deeper pockets. It almost makes me think that when Bitcoin or block chain was up and coming, maybe that was a type of carry trade.

is there a link between carry trade and just plain old leverage, such as taking out a mortgage to buy a home or investing on margin? What are the similarities and differences?
