The Kean University Registrar will visit our HCI class on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. Please use this work as a guide to design data gathering for a usability engineering evaluation. Prepare for the visit as follows: 0. Review the Steve Krug YouTube Video on interviewing technique: (available on the Google site): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v QcklzHC99Xc usability-gov as referenced in textbook. 1. Visit the main Registrar site: http://www.kean.edu/offices/registrar, Problem Statement: A revision of the site is anticipated. There are many different units/divisions to the Registrar's office. Students must be guided towards what they need in a simpler fashion. Students do not come to the site knowing what they are looking for-the site must guide the students. Right now, it is understood that the site does not do that very well. 2. An initial area of focus is the forms page http://www.kean.edu/offices/registrar/forms-and-policies. Problem Statement: The forms themseles are antiquated- students need to come to the forms page for basically everything. The forms should be processed remotely as much as possible. Students should be able to know what they need in a single glance or search. This is a good visual representation of that point: http://grad.kean.edu/forms. For this assignment, you should do the following: Clarify the basic goal of improving the product by considering what this means to you. State the goal here a. b. Who are the users? c. What are their expectations? d. Watch a group (or person) casually to get an understanding of issues that might create challenges for you doing this assignment and information that might enable you to refine your goals.
