The Learning Journal is an evaluation tool designed to help you evaluate the importance of the material you learned but understand what you found relevant. In some cases, it should help you record problems you encountered but also how you resolved them. This does not mean you should resubmit what you already shared in the Discussions and assignments, but instead critically reflect to provide more relevant information. Learning Journals help you understand what information was presented and how you felt it interacted with your world.

For writing your learning journal entry, consider these questions:

What information did you not know before What information was contrary to what you believed How was the Discussion and /or assignment helpful in mastering new information What, if any, material made you want to learn more about it What did you find challenging What did you realize about you and your learning style How did you feel about the feedback you got from your peers
