The main objectives of this lab were to determine the missing angles and amount of grams required for each of the collected data sets to reach Newton's First Law principle of equilibrium (when an object is has no net force acting on it) using a force table kit. We were to also compare the acquired experiment results with using a mathematical method of finding the missing angles and amount of grams. The hypothesis for this lab was that the data collected from using the force table kit would match the results of the math calculations to solve for the missing angles and grams.
A) Collected data using the force table kit.
Data 1
F1 = 60g @ 180
F2 = 80g @ 90
F3= 103.5g @ 306
Data 2
F1 = 65g @ 31
F2 = 65g @ 149
F3= 65g @ 270
Data 3
F1 = 35g @ 25
F2 = 105g @ 105
F3 = 55g @ 165
F4= 150.5g @ 279
B) Draw a diagram for the problems below.
C) Derive the working equations, step by step, needed to use in order to calculate data that is pertinent to the laboratory.
D) Solve for the missing data using the derived working equations; show one of each type of calculation.
E) State the results obtained based on the objectives of the lab, comparison of the results with accepted values (otherwise known as % error), and discussion of what the results mean and/or show.
