The Makawas are a nuclear family that consist of a father, a mother and a son who live in Toronto, Canada. Greg the father, is a forty three year old male with ten years experienceas a high school teacher. He has been a cigarette smoker for twenty years.

April , the mother is a forty year old female with eight years of teaching experience at a high school. She has no known medical concerns and states she is in good health.

Noah the son, is a 1fifteen year old boy in high school in the tenth grade. He states his health is excellent and has no concerns, except that his parents worry too much.

Currently, Greg and April are separated and living in separate home but within the same neighbourhood. They are sharing custody of Noah, they agreed on one week at each othershouses.

At the time of their separation Noah began using marijuana; in spite of the parents efforts he continues to use and spend much time in his room. April recently found pills in Noahspocket whilst doing laundry. Both parents have been really concerned and stressed over Noah's use of substances, Noah insists that the pills do not belong to him. The parents are quite worried about this new transition with their son.
