The Mary Rose was King Henry's flagship, used in many battles against the French over its' 33-year operational lifespan until 1545.

Naturally, the ship was fitted with a number of the latest canon. The powder was unreliable; the ship was moving and the target moving. The canons were not foolproof either so broadside did not replace boarding as the main combat strategy. Nevertheless, it makes for a good reliability engineering study.
