The Maximillian Smith case appears to be going to trial. Draft a letter template that you can send to the potential victims and witnesses, updating them as to the status of the case thus far. There are sample business letters in Chapter 20 and The Writing Center. The letter should be one page. It will include a greeting, an introduction of you (the paralegal) working on the case, and a brief summary as to what has happened. It will then have a conclusion and proper closing.

Tips:

1. 1.This will be going to multiple individuals on letterhead. Therefore, there is no need to put in any names at this time. But, you should use proper spacing to insert the names later.
2. It is important to note that you are a paralegal.
3. Be sensitive to the fact the recipients are crime victims.
