The most important aspect of change management is climate conducive to change and an articulated vision. When change is presented to an organization, sometimes the conversation can be one sided with the organization listing demands of what is now expected instead of opening the conversation on how to make the transition smoother. For instance, my manager has an open conversation with the office employees about change and what we can do better, however, she does not take any feedback from the production floor employees so it feels we are pinned against each other. The office employees do not communicate effectively and do not take the time to understand the production floors employees point of view on the change.When everyone is involved in change and feels comfortable to express their thoughts then respect, understanding and communication will result in lower resistance (Brown, 2014). Also, explaining a clear vision as to why change is needed can help the organization transition. This helps provide a mental image of the future which in turn creates motivation to accomplish a common goal and purpose. It is important for a business to create a vision because it can influence the climate culture and inspire them to with a purpose. If the vision is not clearly stated or closely followed, this can result in a negative work environment, more resistance, and unintended direction (Brown, 2014).
