The movement inward over time toward the origin of the Traditional Phillips Curve suggests that: (a) due to structural changes in the economy, every rate of unemployment is now associated with a lower rate of inflation than before; (b) inflation over time has become more and more sensitive to small changes in the unemployment rate; (c) the relationship between inflation and unemployment has completely broken down; (d) the spread between actual and potential GDP growth has no bearing on unemployment rates.
