The movement of Hmong Americans in the US was almost entirely due to the fact that they were against communism which reflected motives of the United State's political agenda. The Hmong were offered other places to settle, but life in the US kinda seemed like the best bet to them. They were first victims in the US by being somewhat powerless and towards the end of the totem pole. By getting involved in the church and utilizing their ethnic identity, even in the horrible situation of being forced to relocate they found a way to create permanent footprint in the US. The influx of refugees from Southeast Asia could be concentrated into the 70s and 80s, prior to that only international students with the intention of contributing and enrolling the the higher education systems in the US were able to come and flourish here. Post war, when the Hmong ideals did not line up with the communist ties overwhelming the Southeast, they were forced to relocate to try to live somewhat of a free life.
