The movie The Italian Job provides great real life examples for many of the
concepts we have discussed in this course. Please read the following questions
before viewing the movie. Feel free to take notes during the film in order to
answer the questions posed on this observation/evaluation form.
You should answer 2 out the 3 questions for this sessions journal
assignments. I expect each question will take one to three paragraphs to
answer adequately.
1.) Give one example of thinking outside the box in this movie. What
paradigms were challenged and how were they stretched or altered from the
norm?
2.) Think about the creative problem solving process. Pick one step of the
process (Identify which step you are talking about) and give an example of that
step from the movie. Elaborate. (i.e. idea generation Give an example from
the movie that required idea generation, what ideas were generated, did you
see the 4 rules of brainstorming in action...how? etc.)
3.) Pick one character from the movie and do a Brain Quadrant Evaluation.
What quadrant(s) do they function in? What characteristics do they have and
what actions did they take that lead you to your conclusions about their
quadrant preferences?
