The nal exam in this course is a "practical exam" that spans Modules 8 and 9. In this Part lassignment, you will review a data set and construct a hypothesis statement. In the Module 9, Part II assignment.you will run the appropriate tests and interpret the results. The Final Practical Exam is worth 15% of your nal grade. Before you get started. review the Module 7" - Heads-Up: Final Practical Exam page for additional details. Now, open and carefully examine the data on the STAT 211 Altimeter Error spreadsheet [XLSXL i. Also. review the Exam Related Resources section of the Module 3 Readings & Resources page to see demonstrations on how to run statistical tests in Excel. Then, construct a hypothesis and address the following in a document. - Describe what you are comparing. - State your hypothesis in a sentence. - Indicate the appropriate tAtest that you will use to evaluate your hypothesis. - State the alpha [(1) level. In Part I. you will evaluate an aircraft altimeter data sample from different companies to determine if there are any differences in error. You have the following three options for running the appropriate t-test. - Option 1 - compare one brand against a hypothesized mean to determine if the brand is statistically different than the assumed norm. In this case, you would have to cite where the hypothesized population mean came from. - Option 2 - compare one brand against another to see if there are signicant differences between them. - Option 3 - compare either altimeter error of ACME or Brand X before adjustment and calibration and after adjustment and calibration to see if there are any differences in the means {performance}. Based on the type of dependent variable data {ratio} and the type of question in the scenario, you will use a t-test. As you know, there are three different types of t-tests you can use: - One sample t-test [test for one population mean using Excel} - Two sample t-test {hypothesis test for two population means using Excel} - Paired t-test {compare before and after values for one type using Excel} & Download STAT_211_M8-9 Altimeter Error.xisx ACME error before and after Brand X error before and after Compare two different companies or compare one company vs Hypothesized mean maintenance maintenance ACME ACME Brand X Brand X Altimeter Altimeter Altimeter error Altimeter error error before error after before after Altimeter Altimeter Altimeter adjustment- Altimeter Altimeter adjustment- adjustment- adjustment- Altimeter Brand B Brand C Brand D Brand E Brand F calibration calibration calibration calibration Brand A 14 42 38 16 47 42 39 41 9 4 7 11 8 32 O 38 35 6 4 33 0 29 4 18 12 6 32 38 25 4 33 3 4 26 31 22 30 36 28 10 12 42 25 9 26 21 22 3 32 1 32 9 29 20 42 38 4 5 19 45 32 25 25 32 5 29 10 10 9 44 10 40 45 32 19 7 17 4 11 34 31 9 13 23 3 14 30 34 39 13 37 27 23 11 27 38 36 26 15 48 42 29 10 6 15 14 33 45 43 14 11 36 43 34 19 14 22 8 49 18 12 26 10 10 20 49 23 38 4 20 26 36 32 25 42 UnWUN 13 43 46 47 17 3 43 5 46 23 36 44 Ow 12 17 10 12 47 10 19
