The objective of the following paper is to examine one organization both in the private and public sectors, and to analyze, compare, and evaluate its leadership traits, situational characteristics, and leadership behavior. I have chosen to discuss the Miami Dade County public school system for the public sector, and for the private sector, Target Corporation. Miami Dade County public schools (MDCPS) is the 4th largest district in the nation with approximately 35,000 employees, 332,000 students, and 50,000 adult leaders (Miami Dade County Public Schools, n.d.). Target Corporation is the eighth-largest retail company in the United States. It is one of the largest privately owned businesses in America. Target has 450,000 employees and its headquarters are in Minneapolis, Minnesota
