The organization considered for discussion is Nestle. The first challenge faced by the organization is related to diversity management in its workforce. Diversity brings many benefits, but it also causes people unable to work with each other due to their social, cultural, and ethnic background differences. In this regard, the solution is to give behavioral and cultural training to the employees so that employees can understand the different cultures, their inherent values, beliefs and also learn how to work together as a team. Ir develops a synergy among the employees and they can work in a team with mutual respect and cooperation. So, training is one of the effective ways, to help manage diversity.
The second challenge is employees' resistance, lack of interest, and anxiety towards any change initiatives, taken up by the organization. It is the problem that comes out when employees do not understand its benefits and rely more on rumors. In this regard, the manager and or the change management should counsel employees on a one-to-one basis, help eliminate their anxiety, spread positive motivation among the employees. At the same time, some employees who own a powerful position should be negotiated for some other benefits, the position can be offered. Besides, some employees should also be sent for the training to work in the changing environment. It will eliminate resistance and employees will cooperate with the change.
The third challenge is to ensure that employees adhere to ethical guidelines. It should become part of employees' behavior in the organization. In this regard, the employees should be trained with the relevant cases and practical examples, so that they know how to implement them while dealing with colleagues or external customers. The organization also needs to make ethical behavior to be a part of performance appraisal so that employees get encouraged to do so. Further, ethical conduct-related quotations, notices, and other information should be placed in different areas such as restrooms, cafeterias, and other places where employees spend their time after work.
