The organizational structure may be determined based on financing options, stakeholders, how many employees a company can hire due to their funding, etc. The structure may also be determined based on the company's vision and mission or overall goals. However, on the other hand, depending on the company's vision and mission, can determine how to structure or re-structure a company. I know in my past work experience, there was a very clear overall company structure. There was a clear vision, mission, and values outlined. However, within each division or department, there were independent strategic plans created, with individual departmental visions and missions. These independent visions, missions, and strategic plans would need to fall in line with the overall company views, but allowed each division/department to meet their own smaller goals. This helped employees at lower levels feel more empowered, more engaged, and that what they were doing was important to the overall company goals
