The Orion-Vista Café (OVC) was founded in 2019 with the purpose of recreating the ambience and experience of a classic café. Despite fierce competition and a pandemic, OVC has developed a chain of 10 cafés in the last two years and is trying to expand further. Due to the pandemic, OVC was unable to plan a proper operational infrastructure. Derick, the owner of OVC, decided in November 2021 to deploy a robust IT system that would improve operations by allowing the company to better control procedures across the board. The system must unify data flow from all retailers' point-of-sale systems to Derick's office. Real-time data will assist him in making quick decisions. In order to support and manage daily operations as well as expansion plans, the system must be adaptable and agile.

 

As a consequence, IT consultant, Blue Bridge One, was chosen to build and deploy a customised ERP system. The customised technology is intended to assist chain cafés with their retail operations. To configure the business operations, the IT firm used the NetSuite cloud ERP platform. The technology was able to automatically transfer data across the nodes in a connected chain. A business warehouse was linked to the point of sale in order to get real-time data. The entire procedure was finished in January 2022, and it is currently running properly, but Derick was concerned about the additional IT maintenance costs. 

In terms of more tangible benefits, the system aided in financial reconciliation and minimised data entry redundancy, allowing for faster decision-making. Shorter closure cycles, fewer inventory costs, and faster communication between the cafés and Derick's office were all aided by the NetSuite cloud ERP platform.

 

By receiving early information on supply outages and executing effective promotions in a short period of time, the ERP deployment has improved the customer experience at the café. This technique allowed each café to communicate with each other in a short period of time. The level of transparency in Derick's office's operations and support system has been strengthened. All internal stakeholders believe that by using this technology solution, they will be able to grow quickly and become a leading café brand.
