The parent/s only need to sign the initial IEP. After the initial one, they never are required to attend another IEP meeting. The special education teacher is required to send notices to the parent/s going so far as having to send them by certified mail. If there is no response, or returned mail, the special education teacher is allowed to call an IEP team meeting and proceed without the parent/s. Was this a bias question? If so, how?
