The patient's neck was palpated, and a mass was identified on the left. Local anesthesia was administered, and the position of the mass was confirmed again by palpation. A percutaneous core needle was inserted through the skin and underlying tissue into the thyroid mass. The needle was withdrawn with the sample inside the core. The sample will be sent for analysis.
