The percentage of the population in a country that has access to broadband network can have a significant impact on the use of applications such as electronic business, electronic government, and other network dependent applications. According to Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) data shown below, the United States has more than 100 broadband subscription per 100 people. In other words, in a group of 100 U.S. citizens, there would be more than 100 broadband connections to the Internet. As you can see, this is not the same for all countries in the developed world.
