The police are alerted to human remains that have been found on the banks of the Nahoon River at a secluded spot which has a beautiful view. The corpse, which is partially covered by sand and leaves, is mostly skelatised i.e. most of the flesh is no longer present and/ or dried up. The corpse is lying on its left side. A small circular hole is observed in the righ hand side of the cranium (which presents a rounded forehead with light, smooth, u-shaped mandible). A small firearm is found 2 meters away from the corpse on the right hand side. It has not bullets in it. A pile of female clothes is found neatly folded behind a bush further up the river bank, together with a ladies handbag (which contains among others, tissues, lipstick, an empty purse, credit cards and a nail clipper & file). Foresnic examination of the bag reveals small traces of an oil such as that used to clean a firearm. Two glasses (with smudges that look like fingerprints) and an empty bottle of champange are located, partically covered by sand and leaves, about 3 meters further up the river bank. Several dried up cigarette buts (some with lipstick still visible on their filter) as well as the remains of a condom are found behind a tree which overlooks the site at which the corpse was found. Upon closer examination by the pathologist, the shrivelled remains of a tiny foetus are identified in the pelvic region (in relation to which the sacrum is short, broad, J-shaped with small articular surfaces) of the corpse.
