The practical assessment provides the opportunity for learners to demonstrate their skills, relevant to each unit of competency. These demonstrations must be observed by the qualified assessor or a third party who has had the observation requirements fully explained to them and has signed the third party agreement. To complete the practical assessment learners must have access to a fully equipped workplace or to a simulated workplace that reflects workplace conditions. Tasks must be completed to comply with the standards outlined in the performance criteria and performance evidence for each unit. RTOs should contextualise the tasks to support consistent and fair assessment process across the organisation and to accommodate specific learner cohorts and industry frameworks.
