The Present Level of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFP) section of an Individualized Education Plan should drive all subsequent content of the IEP, including goals and services. • Influences oflanguage, culture, and family background
• Strengths, preferences, and interests in nonacademic areas
• Any other relevant issues from the case study not directly addressed.
• Any additional information that should be collected that may not be included in the case study.

In an additional 100-250 words, describe the process required for determining eligibility. Reflect upon why it is important to know the potential effect of differences in values, languages, and customs that can exist between the home and school. Describe how this affects eligibility for special education services.
