The profile of facilities management is in the process of being enhanced by the Government Soft Landings initiative. In particular, greater emphasis is being placed on end user and building in use requirements in the design, planning and construction stages of new build and refurbishment projects. Clearly, facilities managers need to be involved throughout these stages for their expertise in understanding and interpreting how business requirements can be met.
