The provincial insurance acts have specific requirements that must be met before a contract of life or ABS insurance is legally in force. Listed below are items which may, or may not, need to be completed:

The issued contract is delivered to the policyholder

The initial premium has been made by the policyholder

There has been no change in the financial situation of the insured since the time of application

There has been no change in the health of the insured since the time of application

The client is aware of the $20$ day "free look" period

If there has been a change in the health or financial status the agent should note the change delivering the policy
