The purpose of the Discussion Board is to allow students to learn through sharing ideas and experiences as they relate to course content and the DB question. Because it is not possible to engage in two-way dialogue after a conversation has ended, no posts to the DB will be accepted after the end of each unit.

As a way to gain some practice in decryption, design an exercise for your classmates using the two-stage transposition technique. Include the following:

In your first posting on the Discussion Board, provide the information that will be needed for the exercise (a key and a message).

Share your thoughts with the class about the goals of cryptography and cryptanalysis.

Offer explanations regarding how a cryptosystem is used to encrypt and decrypt messages.

Choose the exercise of one of your classmates, and post the answer of that exercise to the Discussion Board.

When everyone in the class has completed the exercise, post the answer to the exercise that you created.
