The purpose of the project is for each group to explore the role of the HR function in organizations, to develop group members' analytical and problem-solving skills, and to enhance group members' knowledge of HRM issues, practices and processes. Studying Scotiabank, each group needs to analyze the firm's major HR practices, to identify advantages and disadvantages of the firm's HRM practices, and to recommend some actions for the firm to improve the effectiveness of its HR management

 Section A: Analyze the firm's HR practices, including: (i) HR Planning; (ii) Recruitment
and Selection; (iii) Training and Development; (iv) Performance Management; (v)
Compensation. Your analysis should address THREE PRACTICES on the above list,
and should answer all questions as follows:
o How does the firm manage each of the three HR practices?
o What are the strengths of each HR practice?
o What are the weaknesses of each HR practice?
 Section B: Recommend some strategic actions for the firm to improve its HR practices.
You should answer all questions as follows:
o What actions should be taken in order to improve each of the three HR practices?
o What measures could be used to assess the effectiveness of these actions?
o What issues should the firm address when taking these actions?
