The purpose of this assignment is to provide an opportunity for you to observe student behavior, conduct a functional behavior analysis and form a behavior improvement plan. Please ensure that your paper is double-spaced, has 1-inch margins, and uses TimesNewRoman font. There is no page requirement but you must ensure that you have thoroughly responded to all sections that are presented below also, be sure to focus on objective student information, not opinion.
For this assignment, we will use case study videos to assess the behaviors of a target student, collect data, and form a behavior improvement plan. Our target student is Joshua, a preschool-aged student who sometimes engages in challenging behaviors. First, watch the videos below and then move on to the assignment. Please rewatch the videos as needed to complete each section:

The Target Behavior
--Provide an operational definition of the problem behavior (s) (one to two sentences each) based on your observation of Joshua. Remember to ensure that your definition (s) is/are objective and observable. Review course notes and your textbook for the proper format of an operational definition.
Data Collection
--form an ABC chart and rewatch the videos to collect data on Joshua's behavior. Note the antecedents, behaviors, and consequences.

Functional Behavior Assessment
--Provide answers to the following questions by reviewing your ABC chart.
What events or situations predict when the behavior is most likely to occur?
What consequences maintain the challenging behavior?
What is the hypothesized function of the behavior? Please use one or more of the functions that we discussed in class ( review your notes).
Part 3 (50 points)
Behavior Improvement Plan (BIP)
--Describe the Behavior Improvement Plan to be implemented, including:
What, if any, antecedent manipulations could be used to prevent the problem behavior from occurring? Provide a rationale for this manipulation.
What replacement behavior will the student be taught to engage in? How is this behavior functionally equivalent to the problem behavior?
How will the student be reinforced for engaging in the replacement behavior? Provide information on the reinforcement and the schedule of reinforcement that will be used over time. Also, describe how you will fade the reinforcement over time. Provide a rationale for this reinforcement.
How will data be collected to evaluate the efficacy of the BIP? Provide information on and a rationale for the type of data that will be collected, who will collect the data, and how often the data will be collected.
