The purpose of this project is for students to get a better understanding of what production management, to include planning and control, entails.

This assignment, and all assignments in this class, is set up in levels. You can "level-up" by completing requirements within each level. There are four levels, 1, 2, 3, & 4. All 4 levels must be completed.

Level 1

• Perform a google search of Production Operations, Planning, & Control Topics. Find, define and describe two of the topics found in a search. Document what was done in a summary report.
• To you, What is Production Operations, Planning & Control? And why is it important to businesses? Provide a definition in a summary report and discuss/document your definitions.Summarize your discussion in your summary report.

Level 2 - Complete Level 1 plus the tasks below:

• Find a blog that specializes in production operations management or supply chain management. Note the URL. Read at least two posts and summarize them in your presentation.
• Find a newspaper article that addresses production operations management, planning, scheduling, or materials management specifically. Note the exact source and summarize the article in a summary report/presentation.
• Find two cartoons that depict production planning and control topics. Document it in your summary report/presentation.

Level 3 - Complete Level 2 plus the tasks below:

• Find a TED or TED-X talk related to a production planning and control topic. Note the URL. Describe the important things you have learned from it in your summary report/presentation.
• Find an article about production planning and control topics in atrade journal. Note its complete citation. Summarize the main points in a summary report/presentation and write three questions for the author about the findings related to the topic.
• Find an article in a production operations themedacademic journal. Note its complete citations. Summarize the main points in the summary report/presentation and write three questions for the author(s) about the findings related to the topic.

Level 4 - Complete Level 3 and put together a project that uses the activity below. Address the question - What is production planning and control?

• Complete a news article or blog post (not an essay)
