The purpose of this project is to mitigate the beach erosion problem and provide additional amenities for the resort. The beach erosion problem has made it difficult to attract clients to the resort. The project will include construction of a pier, the installation of an erosion barrier, and the installation of a buoy line to isolate a safe area for swimmers and non-motorized water activities.

2. Procurement Strategy As your organization (True North Construction) does not have all the resources internally to complete the project, you will need to procure the remaining resources. Below is a list of resources you do have available. You will need to determine what additional resources are required, and how you will procure them. Company policy requires multiple competitive bids for all procurements over $10,000. They also have Ciomar Construction on their preferred sellers list.

Internal Resources: 1. Project manager with experience in small construction projects (Canadian) 2. 4 general laborers with experience in wood construction techniques (Dominican, Santo Domingo). The project sponsor has made it a requirement that these workers are used on the project. 3. Secure onsite storage area for equipment and materials 4. Resort to supply meals and accommodations for non-local project team members 5. Survey team who can define the exact location of the pier placement (Canadian) 6. All other resources required to complete the project will need to be procured
