The purpose of week 6 is to look at the importance of communication at the managerial level. We first look at communication in terms of the three main types of communication - oral, written, and nonverbal (body language, etc.). Then, we look at some of the major influences of interpersonal communication and how that can affect communication between a manager and other people. You will then look at the different roles that managers play in communication. All of the communication has become very important because today's organizations are very dependent upon people working together in teams. Those teams must be led by someone with strong leadership and management skills in order for the team to be successful, and part of ensuring that everyone within the team is doing their part, contributing, and helping with the team's success is strong communication between the team members facilitated by the team leader
