The questions are based on the following passage. Any examples must be based on the passage unless specified. PJ: Prices of Vegetables nationwide have shot up in the past week, increasing by as much as 175% due to the wet season. The federation's vice-president Tan Pak Looi describe the price increase as inevitable. "When the weather is cold, vegetables do not grow properly. A few days ago, red chillies cost about RM3.50/kg, but are now sold at RM11/kg" he said in Johor Bharu... According to a customer our interviewers found in Pudu, identified as Mrs. Heng, says: "Since chillies are literally hot items during festive seasons, it is no surprise that the price would be charged at a seasonal price of RM10/kg. Since we are also having a shortage of chillies supply in this never ending rainy season, now I need to pay RM15/kg, which is triple of the chillies' price from any other normal day. It is of no surprise" Edited based on "Veggie Prices Skyrocketing", by Zuhrin Azam Ahmad, Dalilah Ibrahim, Sylivia Looi, meera Vijayan, Nguk Ik Ying and Renita Che Wan (newsdesk@thestar.com.my)
