The rapid growth of the city of Ottawa and the surrounding area has resulted in an increase in traffic congestion, both for vehicles and pedestrians. Aside from normal road maintenance and a few minor projects, the city recently approved the allocation of $ 24 million for major improvements to the capital's road system. This additional funding can be spread across a multitude of small projects or concentrated on a few large projects.
