The rapid growth of the city of Ottawa and the surrounding area has resulted in an increase in traffic congestion, both for vehicles and pedestrians. Aside from normal road maintenance and a few minor projects, the city recently approved the allocation of $ 24 million for major improvements to the capital's road system. This additional funding can be spread across a multitude of small projects or concentrated on a few large projects. The city's engineers and planners were asked to prepare a list of priorities along with a description of roads and facilities that could be improved with these additional funds. Engineers also calculated the possible public benefits associated with each construction project; they took into account the possible reduction in travel time, reduced accident rate, land assessment, pedestrian safety and savings in vehicle operating costs. Assuming a 20-year planning horizon and an interest rate of 10%, which projects would be considered for funding in a) and b)? See the data presented on the project sheet 2 in the Excel template.

A. Due to political pressure, each district will be entitled to the same funding, for example $ 6 million.

B. To compensate for previous imbalances in budget allocations, Districts I and II have been combined, which will receive $ 15 million, while Districts III and IV will receive $ 9 million. At least 2 fixed assets from each district must be included.

i'm not sure what method they intend for us to use, i'm guessing IRR or B/C ratios.... translated from french.
