The reality that it can be easy to start rushing when conducting an assessment - there is just so much to get accomplished in a short amount of time. Knowing another appointment follows the immediate assessment creates some inherent pressure - and understandably so. Some of this includes learning the most important questions to ask to get the information you need. Again, some of this will come with lots of practice and the further development of one's own style. Sometimes we must cut in on a client if they are getting a little too offtrack - or, even more frequently, to end a session. How do you think a counselor can manage the demands of being present for the client for the assessment while also acknowledging the need to finish in time for the next appointment?
