The Rosebud theatre company was performing 'Hamlet' in the Square Theatre. The main actors, Mary, Abdul and Tyrone were in the middle of a scene when the stage caved in below their feet, killing the three of them in front of their audience. The sight was particularly gruesome. The stage accident happened because of poor maintenance and a lack of health and safety checks by Square Theatre's manager and owner.

Luisa was on stage at the time, helping with the props, she could feel the stage caving under her feet, miraculously she was unhurt, but since the incident, she has been having nightmares and is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Elena, Tyrone's wife was seated in the audience when the accident happened. She saw the whole incident and could hear the loud screams from the actors while they were engulfed by the stage. Elena, as a consequence of witnessing this tragedy, now suffers from acute personality disorder.

Fatima, Abdul's girlfriend, was due to be in the audience but she missed the bus that was taking her to the theatre, and was one hour late arriving. By the time she made it to the theatre, Abdul's body was already on its way to the mortuary. She saw the clean body of Abdul three hours after the incident. As a consequence of this tragedy and what she went through on that day, she is suffering from severe clinical depression.

Pedro was a member of the audience and after witnessing the event is suffering with manic bipolar syndrome.

Advise Luisa, Elena, Fatima and Pedro upon whether they may be able to seek compensation in negligence against the Square Theatre in respect of all the mentioned medically recognised harm they are suffering with.
