The scientific discoveries that have been discussed so far have all been attributed to men, but that doesn't mean that women were not an integral part of scientific advancement. It is true that they had many obstacles to overcome. Once such obstacle was the idea that women were not the intellectual equals of men that permeated society, even through the enlightenment era. Women have proven that to be false time and time again. But, who were these women?
Do some research on your own to find some women scientists who have made great contributions to the field of science. Create a timeline of at least five such women and explain their contributions to their scientific field of study. You are not limited to contributions to the study of physics here, so branch out into those areas of science which interest you the most. Your timeline should abide by the following parameters: m
- Include at least five notable female scientists (i.e. who are these female scientists?).
- Describe in some detail the contribution of those female scientists (i.e. what are they most known for?).
- Span at least the last 300 years (i.e. when did they make their discovery?).
- Cover a range of sciences (i.e. what was their field of study?)
- Includes a Works Cited or Bibliography of sources used.
