The short essay is meant to provide you the opportunity to analyze two organizations strategic plans and compare/contrast each organizations approach to strategic planning. Take for example, South Georgia State College and Wiregrass Georgia Technical College. Each college has a central mission = education. However, each college has a different approach to education therefore, they have a different strategic planning process. For example, WGTC would include language in their strategic planning on adult education, economic development, and associate degree credit training. SGSC would include language on athletics, associate/bachelor degree, and residence life in their strategic plan. This would also include different stakeholders in the development of the strategic plan -- however, there would be an overlap, so what is the overlap? What do the two strategic plans have in common and what's different. This applies to other organizations as well, think of The Salvation Army and the Red Cross or Douglas and Waycross chamber strategic plans. This is not as structures, I want to see you're able to identify differences in strategic plans and be able to discuss why the differences apply to the organization in a short essay.
