The situation or issue that prompted me to search the literature is The ability to recognize facial emotions is probably a strongly developed skill by human beings. In this sense, identifying facial emotions corresponds to a universal knowledge that allows an adequate social interaction (Ekman, 1993). Facial expressions can transfer essential information for proper communication and social interaction (Wegrzyn, Vogt, Kireclioglu, Schneider, & Kissler, 2017). Communicating is a sense of awareness of deaf consumers' hardships daily. Communication is detrimental because Individuals with a profound hearing impairment that communicate with lipreading cannot understand or articulate speech or lipreading due to the face covering. Social distancing also impacts speech audibility with hearing loss because lip reading is their way of communicating (Hulzen & Fabry, 2020). Mask: mandating may protect individuals from illness; however, social workers with hearing loss suffer emotional trauma. Many social workers suffer in silence because the mask has silenced individuals with hearing loss. Social workers with hearing loss do not want to engage in a conversation because of not being able to read the person's lips. Social workers avoid other individuals, groups, or crowds due to their inability to respond because they cannot hear the person behind the mask (Crume, 2021). Social workers who wear a mask while in the presence of other individuals and practice social distancing have difficulty communicating with deaf and hard-of-hearing patients that read lips. There are deaf and hard-of-hearing patients who rely heavily on lipreading and other facial expressions. Wearing facial masks makes it difficult to answer questions in their everyday lives, such as understanding healthcare questions or work-related 18. The study will help understand the impar of face coy hearing and ication
