The supervision of counseling students or new graduates in the counseling profession is a requirement for graduation and for licensure. The requirements for supervision and who can provide supervision is different in each state. It is the responsibility of the counseling student or the new graduate in counseling to be aware of the requirements for supervision. Supervision is required for practicum and internship students and is required for individuals pursuing licensing credentials.
