The surveys were administered via email and in person with a privacy disclosure which explained that this survey would not be published. Participants also understood that all answers would be anonymous. Participants were informed that this study was for educational purposes only. The survey created was made up of a total of 20 questions. There were two demographic questions included in the survey age and gender. The survey questions were answered over a course of two weeks or 14 days.

30 Participates first completed the daily spiritual experience scale (DSES) (Underwood, 2011). Next participates completed the CES-D scale a self-report depression scale for research in the general population (Radloff, 1977). Participants then completed the questionnaire sent via email before applying daily spiritual disciplines. At the end of the first week, participates agreed to apply the spiritual disciplines of their choice but had to participate in a minimum of three daily disciplines for 7 days. The participates agreed to participate in these consistently for 7 days. At the end of the 7 days the participates repeated completing the daily spiritual experience scale (DSES) (Underwood, 2011). The participates repeated completing the CES-D scale a self-report depression scale and answered the survey questionnaire. (Radloff, 1977)
