The table below shows the account balance of a credit unions member on 15th March 2017. This member upgraded her green account to purple account on 21st April 2018. Then the member was promoted to red account on 12th December 2019. The credit union wants to track the balance and other changes starting from the opening of account and does not want to open a new account but just an upgrade of account type. Upgrading the account to a next tier forces the credit union to change the account number to meet the criteria of the premium accounts. The green account must start with number 4A followed by the member ID; the purple account must start with 5B followed by the member ID; and the red account must start with 6C followed by the member ID. While upgrading, the balance does not change.
