It scares me a little to be so dependent on something like this, something we don't have direct control over. What happens if our provider's data center is hit by a tornado or a flood or something? Or what happens if we lose Internet connectivity?

You:

We can think through all those possible scenarios and develop a plan that would help us keep up with business demand even during an outage of some kind. It's important to identify and eliminate any single points of failure, such as dependence on a single Internet connection.

Owner:

Well, how do we fix that? We need an Internet connection to access cloud$-$based software. I don't see a way around that.

You:

Right, we need that Internet connection, but we don't necessarily need it from the one Internet provider. We could design a that would kick in if the primary service goes down.
