The thought I had as I was reading and watching the videos this week was how many aspects of managing a large international business there are. It sure is a good thing that businesses grow in stages. This goes along with the videos. In "International Business Three mistakes in Outsourcing and Offshoring" they talked about how it takes time to build up a business abroad and to build trust with suppliers. And that there are more costs to consider than labor costs. This is what we read about this week. How to plan for resources and supplies (p 365-368), how to boost competitiveness and efficiency to make a higher profit with production strategies (p 362-365). I enjoyed watching the video "Factory Improvement Program Vietnam" it reminded me how when people get training and a chance to improve their own conditions, we become more invested and enjoy work a lot more this then translates to increased productivity and product quality, which ultimately increases the profit for the company. It is all a chain reaction and confirms how important it is to treat your employees well. Feedback
