The Tongue & Cheek is a popular restaurant and bar. Ariadne, its owner prides herself on its mellow atmosphere and its friendly staff. However, behind the scenes, it is a different story.

Alex is the restaurant's sommelier, and Aeries, the head chef, have fallen out over Alex's wine choices for the latter's signature dish. Aeries' sharp temper gets the better of her, and she grabs an empty wine bottle and hits Alex across the back of the head. Meanwhile Aimee Anarchy, the local librarian, is setting up for the weekly pub quiz and karaoke. As Aeries storms out of the kitchen, she strips over a lead which Aimee has failed to tape down and twists her ankle. Andros, the restaurant's phones Antimony, who is at home, to see if she can cover Alex's shift. Antimony had been expecting to have the night off and had just settled in to watch television. Though Andros makes it clear she does not have to come in , Antimony s irritated by his request. She cycles to the restaurant, and when she gets there, she punches Andros.

Meanwhile, Agatha, who fancies herself an influencer, is walking around the bar talking to customers. She is employed as a host to make the guests feel comfortable, as so is a well-known figure at the bar. For convenience, Ariadne employs Agatha through an agency, which pays Agatha's wages. Adam has been coming to the bar for a few weeks and Agatha has been particularly welcoming. She often encourages him to stay late to help her tidy up and then gives him a lift home in her sports car. After one such occasion, Adam complains that Agatha has sexually assaulted him. A subsequent criminal investigation upholds his claim. Advise the parties
