The trip attached is the time (2st column) and Distance (2nd column) of a car trip, time in hours and Distance in miles (no need for conversion) upload the trip.txt file in octave and do the following: 1) using interpolation (linear and spline) estimated the Distance traveled after 3.5 hours 2) use diff or gradient twice to estimated the speed and the acceleration vs time. Deduce the average speed and average acceleration. 3) The Distance vs Time plot seems to be linear which suggest a uniform constant velocity motion. But in question 2) we find severai speeds and accelerations. In order to get a physically accepted data, we propose to fit the Distance vs Time with a linear best fit. i) Use Octave to do the fitting and plot the data along the fitted line ii) Estimate from the fitting the average speed and compared it to the one obtained from question 2 tripty 14 December 2022, 3:34 PM
