The Tun WAN Hall is a large hall for public events. During an event, the hall needs to be cooled effectively by using circulating chilled water at the Air Handling Unit (AHU). The AHU consists of a compact, crossflow, heat exchanger. As shown in Figure Q3B, the chilled water flows into the AHU at 1.5kg/s and 6C. Hot air from the hall (ambient air) at 35C,60% relative humidity and 30m3/min flow rate is cooled by the chilled water to 24C and returns to the hall. The ambient air pressure is assumed to be 100kPa. Figure Q3B. Schematic of the air conditioning system for the Tun WAN Hall For this air-conditioning system, i. By using calculation approach for air properties(determine whether the air-cooling process will reduce any condensate, ) ii. Based on the ideal gas law, calculate the dry air mass feed rate (ma), iii. By using the Psychrometric Chart, calculate the cooling load of the AHU and the condensation rate of water vapor (if any), iv. Determine the exit temperature of the chilled water, and v. Calculate the surface area of the heat exchanger using the Log-Mean Temperature Difference method. Given the correction factor is 1 and the overall heat transfer coefficient is 170W/m2.C
