The US economy has seen a major transformation in less than 10 years. The gig economy has changed the ways employees are "hired" and compensated. This has led to no benefits being paid to employees, the employee has no job security, no right to join a union, and many times wages are low. What do you think about this approach to hiring and compensating employees? Any advantages for the employee or is all in the owner's favor? Should gig workers be able to unionize and negotiate for work place conditions and compensation? Why or why not?
