The vessel "Southern Cross" sank in shallow water off the coast of Geraldton. The sea was calm and divers were sent to inspect the vessel. The divers concluded that a burst pipe was the likely cause of the vessel taking water. The logbook was missing, but there was also evidence that the crew had abandoned the ship in a hurry, leaving all valuables behind. The insurer has rejected the insured's claim on the grounds of wilful misconduct of the insured. Discuss.
