The working environments in schools can be very complex and offer numerous ethical dilemmas requiring difficult decisions for a school administrator. Ethical decision-making also applies to working with individuals and groups outside of the school and is an important consideration for future administrators to examine.

Discuss with your group the meaning of the term ethics as it relates to working with families, businesses, and community groups, as well as the use of technology within these groups.

Individually, locate examples of ethical situations related to family, business, and community involvement with schools, as well as the use of technology when working with these groups. To ensure consistency in reporting, make notes that include the groups involved, a brief description of the situation, and its resolution.

Discuss the similarities and differences between the ethical situations and analyze resolutions to the situations using information from readings and research as a guide for discussion and analysis.

Prepare an 8- to 10-slide presentation to share your group's research and analysis that includes the following:

• Explanations of at least 2 ethical situations related to working with each of the following groups:
  • Family
  • Business
  • Community leader or group
• Descriptions of technology use and ethical implications
• Similarities and differences between the ethical situations
• Your team's analysis of the resolutions
